OH, my.
Just went for a spin in the RX-7.
Lori needed a couple of gallons of gas f or the lawnmower, and she blew the head gasket in her Ceilica last week.

So, guess who was tapped?

Anyways........
On the way back home, pulled up to a red light, and there was this cutest little blond in a convertible beemer next to me....
Silly gurl wanted to RACE??  She obviously don't know didly about RX-7's.  Which I can't blame her for, there are only a handful of '85 GSLSE's  left running in this state.  And probably none with a hand tweaked motor and 4:11 gears.......
Needless to say, I left her sniffing my tail pipe.  The cop 3 cars back at the corner of the intersection must have been amused, because, although I didn't see him until after I launched, he did not pursue.  Must have had his ticket book full, 'cuz he could have filled it with me.
Hit 120 on a short track of road and bailed.
The speedo says 140....never did it, and won't on these tyres......maybe next year I can book a track date with new rubber and see if it will do what it says.  The factory tach redlines at 7000 rpm.  It will do 8000 in a blink of the eye.  Hand tweaked rotors by Mazdatrix.  Had it up to 8000 in 1st, 2nd. 3rd, and 4th once.
Overdrive 5th gear turns into a wind resistance test.  Never maxxed it out.

I guess that would be the one thing in my bucket list.

Many of you may not even know what an '85 RX-7 GSLSE is.

This guy burnt the tyres until he blew his bonnet...........
Mine is not a 3 rotor......just the 1.3 litre stock, fuel injected version with 2 rotors.
With a number of internal tweaks courtesy of Mazdatrix.

1.3 litres does not sound like much, but you have to factor in that it makes power on every cycle.....3 of them per rpm.....not suck, squeeze, bang, blow.  Just bang bang bang.  Courtesy of Dr. Wankel.

That's what an RX-7 is.  So if you see some  silly fool in a cute little car with a kitty riding shotgun......
Don't mess with it........LOL.

Mine.......it has about $4500.00 in hail damage on it from a month ago......waiting for a cheque from the insurance company tot make it right.  Might be 1 or 2 hoods left in the USA for it. My body guy is checking for one.
