Getting good reports of the BETA GeForce 331.40 Driver at GPUGrid, in particular for high-end (TITAN and GTX 780) cards.

I use it on my Titans
06.10.2013 16:09:06 |  | Starting BOINC client version 7.2.5 for windows_x86_64
06.10.2013 16:09:06 |  | CUDA: NVIDIA GPU 0: GeForce GTX TITAN (driver version 331.40, CUDA version 6.0, compute capability 3.5, 4096MB, 4096MB available, 4989 GFLOPS peak)

Boinc 7.2.5 did not use the RAM correct, it Shows 4GB but we have 6GB
@Richard, can you make a error-report ?

6GB of memory requires 64-bit CUDA app. Most probably all BOINc CUDA stuff is 32-bit one (just as most of CUDA BOINC apps are). Hence - 4GB.

That was reported to the developers on 3 March - over six months ago.

After upgrade from win 8 pro x64 to 8.1 via Microsoft store the crunching stopped and the GPU processing in BOINC was not found.

I did a re-install of 13.9 drivers for windows 8 and after restarted the computer the crunching came again, in the report of the installation there was a error message that the driver was not installed.

I guess that should be because the drivers of 13.9 there are not specific for 8.1 because so I downloaded the program for auto find and download only was found the 13.9 for the APU not for the dedicated one HD7770 but no file was downloaded as the software said that there was not available such file in the web ???

decided to do it manually and at the last drop box of the OS as 8.1 x64 there was no available files and tried with 8.0 x64 and now working.

hope could help if possible  ;)

Is Windows 8.1 any better as I found the original Windows 8 to be an abortion and I ended installing my trusty Windows 7 DVD.

If you dont like Win 8 you wont like Win 8.1 either.

NVidia have released two new WHQL drivers in quick succession:

331.58   (21.10.2013)
331.65   (28.10.2013)

Not sure why yet - investigating.

Just bugfixes, it looks like.

I've had 331.58 running for 3 or 4 days now without any problems.  I'll pull 331.65 over night and install it tomorrow.

I've tried it in a Microsoft Surface Pro because of the i5 (& HD 4000) and told me that this driver (x64 version for win 8.1) is not designed for such processor/GPU I guess that should be Microsoft slave  :'(
