If anyone missed the Kickstarter drive, you can now reserve a board, first come first served.

Should we do this ? Or it will be shipped automatically because of reward choice at time of pledge drive ?

If we're pledged then we'll get ours when they are ready, this is for people who missed the Kickstarter pledge drive, say if Urs or _heinz or Mike decide they want one too.

[Off Topic: On] I've also pledged for the Elite: Dangerous Game, just two hours left if anyone is interested [Off Topic: Off]

More News:

The Parallella board now runs Ubuntu!

The first 100 prototypes to Kickstarter backers who signed up for Parallella early access are expected to ship by the second week of June.

Sort of related, the next generation of AMD and Nvidia GPUs will sport numerous ARM cores.

Dunno if you can run Ubuntu on them.

Debian, definitely. Debian runs on ANYTHING  ;D

Their frontman just contacted BOINC. He wants BOINC to support Parallella! Very good news!

Quote from Andrew's mail:

There has been quite a bit of interest in using the Parallella
computer with BOINC applications and I'd like to find out what work
would be required to add support for it / the co-processor.

The computer has a dual-core ARM A9 processor (Xilinx Zyqn) and runs
Linux (Linaro Ubuntu), but in order to take advantage of the Epiphany
floating-point hardware I'm not sure whether this would need adding as
a platform, or perhaps Parallella (ARM+Epiphany).

There is also interest in running SETI@home and I was thinking this
might make a great exemplar application when developing BOINC support.

That sounds possibly do-able - though with a 10:00 Sunday start, I'd need to get a train down the day before and spend the night in a hotel. Anyone else thinking of doing that, and maybe meeting up for a beer somewhere?

I'm tempted to go too, think i'd need to stay in a hotel overnight too, and i'd certainly meet for a beer.
