Is it possible for someone to repair the email notification feature of the forum.
Especially for PM it's a crime. There is almost no warning of a PM, only a small counter.

Simon set the site up with Enigma 2.0 rc1, and the team developing that portal/cms disbanded about the same time. If someone with strong PHP skills volunteered to upgrade the site I think we'd all be pleased.

That means you are running an very outdated site, with probably a lot of exploits that are not fixed.
Why not move over to the latest SMF version and use one of the mods.

I do have SMF 2.0RC4 installed along with Tinyportal 1.1RC1 on my site, just to see what it looks like.

No idea myself, but whatever it is I am sure it's heavily customised.

I would stick with the SMF only version http://www.simplemachines.org/, it's been there for years and updated on a more or less regular basis.
Don't thing you miss out. Add some frequently update mods for spam. ;D

Tinyportal is actually supported by Simplemachines and available on the site.

I wanted to see how the content and file management system was.

So far I think I found one bug where the downloads could be accessed by anybody, but the link on the page would only show up for moderator and above. I solved that by adding in a new block and just linking into the sections.
