I know for a fact that I would not last if I ever went into the political part of the forums, so I stay out of them on all my forums that I visit.

I can have strong opinions, but mostly they come out of the other side of me that I do my best to keep hidden.

Keep plugging along Mark, we will continue to crunch as long as there is work.

Of course I am a ATI user and have to use my video card over at Milkyway since there is no support at SETI.

Well......that is my downfall........I do not keep my opinions hidden.....I wear them on my sleeve.

I will stand tall some day....for now I will retreat into my music thingys........and maybe EVGA will come thru and get my 285 working.........

For now.......I have been researching Tom Paxton a bit.......
Did not realize how many old songs he wrote that I loved when done by other artists.

Born in '37, he was a bit of Dylan and the rest, but never got their fame....he stayed in the background, but he wrote a few biting war protest songs along the way.....stick with me for a moment.

First, here are a couple of songs by Tom....
The first from back in '65...'Buy a Gun For Your Son'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WphNO24h9nA

This one is from '64...sung by Pete Seeger....quite appropriately...'What Did You Learn in School Today?'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wf5Jn8O3s0c

The next is my favorite......my personal fav is a version by Mary Travers, which sadly, I cannot find on Youtube...but Tom wrote it.  From '66...'The Last Thing On My Mind'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08lVuhv_Va8

And he wrote so many songs that PPM and Dylan and Baez all sang too.........

Here he is catching up with the times....LOL...'I Am Changing My Name to Fannie Mae'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etUq7IY_7Mc

And a revised version that Arlo Guthrie did.....(yeah, born in '57, same as me, he's  still kickin'...)...'I Am Changing My Name to Chrysler'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=daBx_PBrvSE
Live version....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAG0XMRty5Y&NR=1

It's amazing how closely knit so many of the artists that I know and love were back then.......hard to separate who wrote what the others sang.
I could post a hundred more linking various folks that might surprise you.

Thanks for listening, hope you enjoy....
