Question about Knabench-1.43
« on: 06 Sep 2007, 09:16:26 am »
What exactly wu_time.exe does?
(line .\tools\wu_time .\science_apps\init_data.xml in Knabench-1.43.cmd)
AVG 7.5.0.458 free edition antivirus scaner has troubles with that file (wu_time.exe).
AVG defines it as Sohanad.F I-Worm and deletes from subdirectory.
Maybe "false positive"?

It's a small program Ben Herndon wrote to get the CPU time from the init_data.xml file, I think a compiled AutoIt3 script. I do think it's a "false positive", nobody else has seen any indication Ben's system was infected.

Because the CPU time saved in init_data.xml is always close to a multiple of the checkpoint interval, it can be wrong by half the usual 60 second "Write to disk" time and we generally ignore it. You could just delete the two lines in knabench-1.43.cmd which call the program.
