Tnx folks. ATI 13.4 Beta worked fine, got GPU going in SETI again using the latest KWSN apps.

We'll see how the Chinese-sourced fans do. I have an older ASUS 9800GTX, twice the hours as the MSI cards. That fan still works fine. Maybe have to look to ASUS for my next GPU.

Regards
Art

PS I tried installing ATI 13.8 Beta. The installer flunked the usability test, would not install. I tried the usual, fresh reboot, close all the hotel load apps, etc. Nothing worked. 13.4 installed without any issues.

The fans work, we'll see about longevity.  GPU  4850 is working fine after updating to latest BOINC and KWSN apps.

New issue, this PC is getting no CPU work, only GPU. Hard to believe SETI and Milkyway both ran out of CPU work at the same time. How many ways are there for me to screw up and make this happen??

Thanks
Art

Several - link to host?
check:
- allow CPU work on project pages.
- CPU apps installed (especially with optimised)
- cache settings
- boinc balls up. can happen

can you post an instance of work_fetch_debug, so I can check on cache settings, levels and other anomalies?

SETI's currently down.

I reinstalled BOINC 7.0.64 then KWSN V0.41 installer. See what happens when SETI is back up.

According to MW@H "properties" in BOINC Manager  the project has no CPU apps. I should have looked!

MW have lots of CPU apps - if boinc thinks they haven't then something is wrong. try and check their project setting page if you've allowed CPU work and the kind of apps that have CPU. sometimes boinc will choke.
I see you have anon for MW too - did you install CPU apps?

yep, seti is being asked for CPU work alright. so it becomes a question of why it isn;t bgetting any - might just be bad luck or require further diagnosis. when we are back up, try manual update a few times. If you are dry you need to manually purge (get tasks chached) to get evrything flowing again.

Apparently I did not install MW CPU apps. Nothing but ATI GPU apps in project folder. Installed and running now. Thanks for the rudder corrections!

Released AMD Catalistyc 13.9.

will see if is there any improvement.

from my side have to do double install as for the first time the display driver was not updated and after re-boot and done again the set-up the drivers was updated.

Cheers all / Corsair.

that's the first thing I noticed before download the bundle that there was no "Vista" naming anywhere in the pack.

time runs too fast.  :'(

I'm the ones that won't like in that moment update from XP (I used for long time XP x64 and was very happy only some problems with some programs that have to do some warlock job for install it eg Itunes, Live essentials) to Vista but at last I upgraded to w7x64 and I was quite happy.

two month ago I received from my wife my birthday present that was the Surface Pro 128 w8x64 in the very first second I upgraded to 8.1 preview and really I'm happy with it. it's different and have to do some extra job for learning it but guess that future goes in that direction.

in my computer at home I've w7x64 and ultimate too but I really considering upgrade to 8.1 my daughter computer I purchase already with w8prox64 and when the definitive version of 8.1 it will be upgraded in time.  ;)

already updated this morning too in my GeForce GTX 650 Ti, will see how is the improvement.

this is the first time that the set-up process goes smoothly as always in previous versions the process stuck at the end of the install of 3D software and had to kill the installation but there was not problem because the system didn't notice any wrong setup.

this time the setup was fine and after installing the 3D feature the program closes itself.

I always deselect the 3D portion of the installer, I don't do 3D so have need of it.
