I keep my GTX460 on 266.58 for that reason.

My GTX460 likes the  285.38 Beta better than anything before or since.

Are you running OpenCL AP work on yours?

i haven't tried that yet. Would you suggest it and if so
what do i need to do ?

OpenCL apps on the newer drivers are using almost a full CPU core to process the work on the GPU's. It started with the 270.xx series and has not been resolved as of yet.

From Open CL 1.2 ... Device partitioning this is what I was waiting for ...years :P ...any plans for the future?
It would be great to assign just one CU to windows, and the rest to boinc :P. It's better than temp throttling :)

I will be testing that later today as I just updated to 11.11, but I am also on a mixed system.

[edit]Not seeing any problems on my computer, Milkyway is using 0.05CPU and about 1.1% or so.

Installed it this afternoon (Windows 7, 64bit variant). Nothing special to report - x41g_cuda32 crunches on as ever ::)

Not going to try it yet anyway. Reverted back to
285.38 Beta and finally getting back to a decent  RAC.
Because we are NOT alone.

I will stick with 285.79 for now as it supports the newer stuff.

AMD SDK 2.6 will be released december 13th.

Some key changes pronounced.

Running the beta now, but out of tasks, might do some bench testing to see if there is any obvious difference to 285 series for us.

[A bit Later:] x41g Cuda 3.2 & later dev builds running more or less the same speed , on GTX 480 [both v6 & v7 test tasks], with the beta driver under bench compared to earlier 285 driver benches.  Could be some fractions of second in it at some ARs, either way still seem like great drivers (as 285 series did here anyway).  Fingers crossed they get Cuda 4.1 final release right for the older cards, will have to wait & see if I can move to using some of the new features.

Would an 'older card' (i.e. 9800 GT-series) beta bench be useful at this stage? (I don't usually upgrade drivers until the WHQL stage). If so, XP or Win7 (it'll be 32bit without the option).

I have to wonder if that is going to matter since the new ATI apps are incompatible with cat 11.10 and cat 11.11 drivers.  Will this solve the incompatibility problem ?

At least there is some hope.

And to be honest the apps aren´t incompatible with those drivers.
The drivers produce faulty results.

Thats a difference.
