From the ATI MB release Notes:

-period_iterations_num 1 (default value)
If you see lags in GUI or even driver restarts - add this parameter with value >1 (integer numbers).

thanks, I'll try and advise of results

NVIDIA has a new 280.19 beta driver available. First report on SETI number crunching forum says it seems to cure the memory problem found on the 275.xx series and seems to be a bit faster. Nothing said about the down clocking problem though.

I will have to test the new driver with x38g as x40 is fairly slow on my 560.

We discovered the memory cure in the Alpha thread.

I'm thinking about trying it on my x39e I'm running but haven't worked up the nerve yet.

already was set to "2" and really was a pain in the a...., now is set to "4" and looks like much more stable.

Finally a release notes that does not say this about HD 5970: "supported only in single mode" - which means that now multi gpu 5970 is finally supported. Hopefully.

I will hold my horses until final GA on SDK and CAL before I test, as it's a real hazzle to update/change on a Windows server 2008...

In all previous SDK release notes it was clearly stated in footnote that 5970 was only supported in single GPU mode. Now there is no "single" in release notes, or info stating multi gpu is not supported on 5970.

As for HD 6990 - it's not on the supported list, so I guess this card it yet to be supported fully.

5970 is already supported i know.
But i´m almost certain not multiple GPU feature.
Can´t remember where i readed it.

To be honest i´m glad if i´m wrong on that.

If your get the URL for the 32bit release, and edit it to the 64bit filename, then the download works,

ROFL, if such tricks required only to get this SDK I could imagine how it will work after that.... better stay with older one for now ;)
