Wow, people. This vanishing post problem is terrible. Anyway, it looks like Josef hasn't been around for a while. I feel like it would be good to get his input on this change

We would like to know if he okay as he has not posted anywhere since August, and his computers have also not connected to SETI either.
Hope somebody has some news, or he shows up somewhere soon.
I have been worried about his absence too.

Well then I guess this is up to me. So here's my plan. I have some time tomorrow. I will put the boards into maintenance mode and do the upgrade for real. Initially I will disable the custom theme because I feel like fixing the vanishing post problem is more important than look & feel. Hopefully the theme can be fixed up eventually. The trickiest part will probably be trying to move the file downloads over. It may end up requiring a lot of manual fixup... we'll see.Any objections?

"Lunatics.at Theme"

Plus the theme template file was modified by the Enigma portal mod. I know the yellow text in a lot of the posts is hard to read on a light background so maybe to start with we should just install a darker theme. But my first priority will be to get the forum and downloads working. If you or someone else wants to poke at themes  stuff, I would be happy to make you an admin  :)

I have used both SKM Night and Lampshade on my board, but have not found any theme that comes close to the custom theme that was designed for here.

Looking much better with the black background!  Dark backgrounds and light text are much easier for those with old eyes, ya see....
The sticky subforum lists are almost illegible, due to the light tan background, but hopefully you can do something about that when time permits.
For now, looking good.

The contrast on locked and pinned forum threads (to bright background colour) needs to be increased for better readability.  ;)

You can't access downloads at all? Or you can't upload? What permissions is the volunteer developer group supposed to have?

We cannot access downloads at all, permissions should be open to all groups to view the downloads.

I changed the background color of sticky threads. Hopefully that is more readable now?

As for the download permissions, I just tried applying the "View Downloads" permission to all forum groups but I'm not sure it actually changed anything. May need to manually add permissions to each download category... not sure. I know guests are able to access downloads because I tested that using a private browser tab. And of course I can see them as an admin. I guess maybe I should create another user account to test these things with...
