I have a Woodcrest server, and here is what I got for an error with Initial Public release SSE3-C2 server.

It seems to fault on each workunit.  The baseline OS is FC5.

what kind of distribution is this ? Fedora Core ?
IF so try to disable SE Linux ....

Did you try the SSE3 app instead ?

I want to share something with you: The three little sentences that will get you through life. Number 1: Cover for me. Number 2: Oh, good idea, Boss! Number 3: It was like that when I got here.

See above -- the base OS is FC5.

cat /etc/sysconfig/selinux
# This file controls the state of SELinux on the system.
# SELINUX= can take one of these three values:
#       enforcing - SELinux security policy is enforced.
#       permissive - SELinux prints warnings instead of enforcing.
#       disabled - SELinux is fully disabled.
SELINUX=disabled

Will try SSE3-P4 next.

SSE3-P4 seems to work.  Yes, I am sure this is a woodcrest which is a core 2 :)

Aother C2D:

ldd KWSN-R2.2B-SSE
./KWSN-R2.2B-SSE: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3.4' not found (required by ./KWSN-R2.2B-SSE)

It is slack 9.1, glibc-2-3-2, back to ols one

Is 2.3.4 really needed, or simlink can do?

I don't have the details, but I suspect glibc 2.3.4 is really needed.  What kernel are you running on slack 9.1?  I suspect an OS which provides glibc-2.3.2 can't even properly take advantage of C2D CPUs.

I don't have the details, but I suspect glibc 2.3.4 is really needed. What kernel are you running on slack 9.1? I suspect an OS which provides glibc-2.3.2 can't even properly take advantage of C2D CPUs.

Hi!

uname -a
Linux lin 2.6.19.2I #4 SMP Tue Jan 23 12:18:04 CET 2007 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux

so CD works somehow....

C2D advantage: decent RAC. Main reason to get this box are some old apps, and I am not in the upgrade/debug mood: do not fix it if it is not broken.

Just checked: some other boxes have old glibc as well, while AMD 285 with slamd64 works fine
(SSE2-generic of course).
