Title: Colour schemes
Post by: Richard Haselgrove on 05 Mar 2009, 12:19:34 pm
OK, what's with the fancy colour scheme? Just because the 'special people' have gone blue in the background at SETI, doesn't mean we have to follow everything Berkeley does here..... ;D

As it happens, yes I do quite like it, along with the promotion to Alpha status - better than that boring grey the Betas got. Only problem is, in the UK Blue is associated with a certain political party whose attitudes I profoundly disagree with - but let's not go into that here.

Lol!  Didn't even pay attention to Berkeley changes on forum.  Oh, yes..."lovely".  Much more important that a properly working BOINC client it seems  ::).  However, on this one, the board background in box es on front page is "blue" w/ most script in orange or colors close to it.
Just trying to break-up the monotony a bit for easier visibility, especially on the list of members online/last 24 hours which is getting longer ;).
Unfortunately, nothing more exciting than that.

You guys are a piece of work  :P.

I prefer dark blue too.....but it bleeds into background & ya can't read it on here very well.  ;)

Re: Alpha.... Just like the real business world....same job, same pay....different title on business card  :P
In all seriousness (which I seem to be lacking today  :D)....a better definition of the type of testing performed.

It seems I missed smth. What was bad in golden colour for pre-release testers? And mods coour became slightly acid... We fall victims of acid music style lovers? ;D

If you squint your eyes while looking at the 'Online User's' Box, it looks kindof like a box of 'smarites' .... mmmm 'smarties'

Nice  :P  There's always "Pink" that would convey a certain universal love & acceptance ala "rama, rama, ding, ding".
I heard it's considered a rather masculine color in Europe?  LMAO  :D  :D  :D

Pre-release(Alpha) wasn't gold, but a dull grey...such an injustice as it wasn't at all like the colorful folks they really are.  ;D

Purple is pretty cool, I Like that one too...but it does blend into dark background somewhat.  If I change to a lighter shade though...it glows like neon, YUCK!

Always thought the creators of this cartoon were into "shrooms" themselves.  ;)

In college, used to to play a drinking game while watching Smurfs.
Pretty simple...everytime you hear the word "smurf"...take a drink.  ;)

Roaring drunk after only two episodes  ;D  saying things like...."Smurfette's lookin' kinda Hot in this show...She change her hair?"

Much!  It would be hard to enforce, I know, but I really think Seti forums should take on the "Must be wearing pants" as one of the forum rules.

No, Australian, but cuisine like that costs so much here that I figure it must be tasty!  ;D

  I don't know about that, probably tastes like chicken.  I would prefer a nice steak.

If you don't want frogllegs, you can try this poppler instead: (Here we call them McNuggets)

Frog's Legs are fine eating, more like chicken than fish. But don't take the legs of a little green guy until you're sure he isn't intelligent!

Not worth a new thread, so I'll go off-topic in my own thread.

<RANT ON>

What's with the Americans and their Daylight Saving Time?

Evry Fule Kno ... Summer Time doesn't begin until the last weekend in March.

I had a long and complicated reply to Sutaru all lined up for preview, and *poof*, it's the outrage, an hour ahead of schedule.

And this board is almost as bad - I eventually found how to set it to local time display, when I changed my handle to match the one I use at all the other sites (so as not to confuse Josh when he joined our development discussions - fat lot of good that did). Now I'm posting an hour ahead of myself, because America has decided that EVERY CLOCK IN THE KNOWN WORLD (i.e. America) went forward last weekend.

<RANT OFF>

I am still on Mountain Standard time here in Arizona, I kind of like the summer time as shows on some cable networks come on an hour earlier than they usually do.
