Title: Optimize Debian Lenny
Post by: Twinfang on 20 Feb 2009, 03:14:48 pm
I can't understand how to install optimize core for the Debian Lenny AMD64.

so, I try this.
rename file AK_V8_linux64_sse3(optimize core) to setiathome-5.28x86_64-pc.linux.gnu(current file).
maybe it works. (yes,  analyze speed so fast now)

but, I feel uneasiness, any problem this way?

thank you for hear the my poor english.

"Install" in this case means :

Before you do any changes to the applications you have to stop BOINC. Make sure it is no longer running (e.g.  ps -ax | grep -x boinc   is empty.)

Optimized application (aka. AK_V8_linux64_sse3) and a file called app_info.xml both from directory "Files to Install" belong together. Copy both these files to your  BOINC/projetcs/setiathome.berkeley.edu  directory.

Now restart BOINC.

Is there something wrong with the file "Intructions.txt" in the optimized package you downloaded ?

Thank you for the Reply.

guess wrong in this case.
I optimized Windows version SETI then already app_info.xml exist there.
couldn't find app_info.xml in Linux situation.
so I did check a lots of other xml files....and tired.

boinc-client stop after delete normal core.
add optimized core and app_info.xml to the SETI directory and restart boinc-client.

#ps -ax
I found AK_V8_linux64_sse3 running.

Thank your for the your info and kindness. /bow
