Just curious if anyone is working on a Seti Application that would take full advantage of the PS3's crunching power?

Yes, look on this site for Multi-Beam PS3 apps only.  Also, you'll need to edit the app_info.xml file for version 603

http://www.dotsch.de/seti/

You'll need a Linux distro for PS3 (Yellowdog does a good job here, others will work as well).
Also...the appropriate BOINC client for PS3.

Lunatics doesn't support PS3, so you're better off asking questions @ Main re: install/issues etc.  A few gents there have/are running this.

Note:  The AP files posted @ Dotsch's are NOT the new 5.03 version. Don't install the ones posted. You can post @ Main & ask Dotsch if he expects an updated one shortly.

Lastly...be advised that the PS3 app for multi-beam "works", but isn't optimized to the CBE architecture.
It's quite slow by current standards.  If Seti is your love, and production vs. electricity cost not a major consideration....GO for it!  If you'd like to maximize production for the power that PS3 really offers, you may want to check-out PS3Grid or Folding@Home.

Just trying to be helpful.
Good luck & Have fun!
