Title: New computer: What Nvidia card for gpu?
Post by: Marius on 23 Dec 2007, 05:16:51 pm
Hello,

I'm buying a new computer in the next few months and i'm wundering what Nvidia card to buy to speedup my seti output. (Yes, i know there isn't a fast gpu seti client yet, but from the looks on this board it could be there before we know it) Other then seti i'm using the computer for multimedia and some programming (mainly delphi and some lazarus/fpc stuff)

Anywhay should it be the 8800GTX or the 8800GTS or should i wait for the next generation cards? Any recommedations on this? What exactly is the best for a gpu app, is it frequency or is the amount of shaders?

Thanxs for youre time,
Marius

Any card supporting CUDA is great... It comes down to nickels and dimes in the end though...
