It's some datasheet http://ati.amd.com/products/streamprocessor/specs.html
Maybe on could use this monster for SETI too .... :)
-
1999 USD???
Hm....
-
Ah... :)
It's rival of Tesla from NVidia IMHO. But it seems Tesla cheaper too... :/

Analog of CUDA from AMD?

thanks, did already download the packages...
did the doku in our testproject... have a look at it ...very impressive if we can use it on the HD3870 I have ;)

Sure, GPU app is _very_ needed IMHO.
Maybe you need CUDA code for easely start by porting it to AMD-kind SDK ...

Hi Raistmer,
I choosed the HD 3870 for the SKT, in preparation to use it for the seti-app. Have a look in the AMD Developer Central (http://amd-member.com/newsletters/DevCentral/0608.html) and read RapidMind's Multi-Core Development Platform now supports AMD FireStream™ and ATI Radeon™.
An have a look at RAPIDMIND (http://www.rapidmind.net/product.php)
To use it is in my personal program this year. ;D

Hi
Does any free or at least evaluation version of this development platform available?
-
Ofcourse it costs alot these give much power.
Milkyway@Home shows the raw performance of the Ati gpu cards with a double precision application which the nvidia cant perform very well as stated by many
Not sure if a sinlge precision application would be faster on the nvidia or the ati, but it is clear that the ati cards have enormous power for use :)
Nevertheless the cards still re expenssive and still in development, if more companies can make use of this massive calculation power we would benefit from it soon as well
I think these cards will drop rapidly in price if the mainmarket adopts them for more demanding applications and not only as a toy for scientists.
Now we just need mainbords with more irqs for use more of these cards and not shared because thats not working very well
I found the Nvida tesla cheapest with 663 Gflops costing about $1500 but you can buy the ati 9250 powerhouse with 1Tflops at newegg for $790
And ati has released a new one the 9270 which has 1.2 Tflops availabel for processing.
It would be awesome if someone could make this power available for other applications :D

So AMD gpus are killers vs nvidia. And they do not support seti atm?
Thank you

Well, today I got 2 Radeon 4870-based cards Not from ATI ;) though but with good discount from my old friend.
Lets look closer on ATI streaming capabilities.... ;D
