Title: CPDN problem
Post by: corsair on 23 Mar 2013, 01:34:39 pm
good day to you all,

for some kind of reason I've had this morning one error in BOINC that had corrupted the master file and CPDN project has not been able to start after a computer restart (windows 8 pro x64).

every time I attach to the project I get this message and I'm unable to restore the account setting for CPDN in my computer.

http://climateprediction.net/    23-03-2013 17:06   [error] No scheduler URLs found in master file

 :'( :'( :'( :'( any clue about it??

I'm aware that previous work could not be restored but at least  attach to the project in a satisfactory way and download new work.

It means the scheduler url isn't embeded in the http://climateprediction.net/ web page, it does show up in  http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/ through,
Occasionally i have had this problem when the Seti Beta web site is down for maintenance, but the scheduler is up, Boinc looses the scheduler url because the down for maintenance page doesn't have it embeded,

Shut down Boinc fully, and edit your client_state.xml with Notepad, scroll down to the http://climateprediction.net project section:

Code: [Select]
<project>
    <master_url>http://climateprediction.net/</master_url>
    <project_name>climateprediction.net</project_name>

and change the <scheduler_url> line to the following:

Code: [Select]
    <scheduler_url>http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi</scheduler_url>
Save and restart Boinc.

The CPDN administrators reckon they have managed to jury-rig the 'attach to project' process, while they continue to clean up the hacked server. Would you like to try it again?
