Title: Finished a VLAR on my 9500 today.

Not bad for an angle range of..WU true angle range is :  0.009647  took a total time of 14,802 and 286 CPU time.

Main reason I'm posting about this is that I think I finally found what was causing my -2 errors. I won't know until we get going again for real but it looks like my mouse was causing my problems. Must have been something loose in the one I was using causing freezes and such. It finally got me mad enough to switch to an older mouse I had laying around and all the problems seem to have gone with the bad mouse. I can even play solitaire while I'm crunching now!  :D

the sad thing is that the ATI multibeam app can run those WU's in less than 2 hours.  but the ATI still runs the regular WU's in around an hour.  I'm glad you got work for it though. nothing worse than an idle GPU

I'll provide new version soon after SETI project resumes normal operation.
There were lot of optimizations, many of them HD5xxx specific ones (though it's rather hard to develop w/o targed hardware available at hands). Noticeable change in speed can be expected.

Sound promising Raistmer, looking forward to seeing the results

What you can expect on VLAR tasks ;)

Thats impressive! - If you can do a vlar in around 1/2 an hour then I'd be happy with doing it in 75 mins on my 5670 - can't wait to test it out  ;D

I can't. As I said before I have no HD5xxx hardware at all. It's SubSpace's GPU. He helps me a lot providing all profiling data I need for that GPU family.
My old poor HD4870 still needs slightly less than hour to complete VLAR.
[New beta will start just when servers will provide work (or slightly before if I lost patience completely ;D ]

Still, 33 mins to do a vlar is still impressive ;D even on a 5800!
That should still give a big performance increase on my 5670

No point releasing the beta till there is work for the app
