xx Windows Installer v0.44
22 Jan 2016, 05:56:45 am by Richard Haselgrove
Updated Installers, v0.44 for Windows
Available now

Download files are available now in the main Lunatics download area.
Download mirrors will be available on Arkayn's site, Crunchers Anonymous and Mike's site Mike's World. Make sure you choose the right file - 64-bit or 32-bit - to suit your system.

This is a REQUIRED UPDATE to support the new setiathome_v8 application.

Changes since last release (v0.43b) are:

Support for v8 tasks on all the usual hardware devices - AMD and Intel CPUs, and ATi/NVidia/Intel GPUs

Please note that we have been concentrating on accuracy and precision for this release: the applications may run slower than you are used to, because of the enhanced precision required by v8.
But you MUST use v8 applications to process v8 tasks.

The older v7 applications are still present in this installer, but ONLY to handle the cleanup of leftover tasks.

Please see this thread for full release notes. READ THEM before you install.

While we take great care to find issues while alpha and beta testing, our testing systems comprise only a limited sample of what is out there and can't account for Murphy's Law.

xx Major forum upgrade!
30 Oct 2015, 02:45:39 pm by ToeBee
You may have noticed a few changes around here since your last visit. The forum was running a truly ancient version of the SMF software and it was starting to cause problems after recent server upgrades. The newer versions of PHP and Mysql running on the server caused errors and posts that just vanished into thin air. (see the Vanishing post Test thread) So I decided to perform an upgrade to the newest version of the Simple Machines Forum software.

Unfortunately the old setup was heavily modded and all of these mods were completely disabled in the upgrade because they did not support SMF 2.x. The same thing goes for the custom theme.

As of right now, the basic forum should be back up and running. I also transferred all of the file downloads from the old download system to the new one however this involved some manual SQL queries on slightly incompatible data so there is a good chance there are some problems lurking there. For one thing, I'm listed as the author of all the downloads. I may be able to fix that later. And I'm guessing any direct links to downloads from within posts are broken.

I know the default SMF theme I have turned on now is not very good because some posts have bright text in them. I will try installing a darker theme here shortly that will hopefully help. Eventually I may be able to restore elements of the old custom theme but themes and CSS aren't exactly my strong suit so we'll see...

There will also undoubtedly be more issues that come up as people start using the new software. I'm pretty sure there will need to be permission changes in the download manager for one thing. But I'm sure others will crop up. I will monitor the Discussion Forum for problem reports.

Thank you for your patience in this long-overdue upgrade process.

xx New server, same name
17 Aug 2015, 02:51:27 pm by Josef W. Segur
Our generous KWSN benefactors have shifted to a cloud server, and dropped the statistics site. The IP address has changed, but there should be no other impact now that the transition is complete.

xx DON'T PANIC! You're at the right place
17 Apr 2015, 02:03:15 am by KWSN - jonnyv
Yes, the url has changed! You'll need to login again, but everything that was on lunatics.kwsn.net is still on lunatics.kwsn.info.  It's the exact same forum on the exact same server.  The url is changing because the KWSN founder and owner of the domains passed away.  I'm trying to gain control of kwsn.net. If that happens, we'll switch back. If not, kwsn.info will become permanent.

xx Current OpenCL apps are available for download again
31 Jan 2013, 02:23:05 am by Raistmer
Please, thoroughly read OpenCL readme file that each package contains.
There you will find instruction how to make these applications run and some advises what best configuration to use.
As usual, the creation of new release packages was team work of our Lunatics crew (in nicks alphabetical order):
arkayn, Claggy, Josef W. Segur, Mike, Raistmer, Richard Haselgrove, Urs Echternacht.
Special thank you goes to Claggy and Mike for truly endless testing, help in text files creation and proofreading that was almost as endless as testing this time :)
