optimized app with Vista
Bill walker:
Please forgive a total newb for asking basic questions.
Running BOINC Manager 6.2.19 on Vista. CPUZ tells me I have SSE3, even though messages in BOINC Manager say SSE2. Downloaded SSE3 for 64 bits app, installed as directed, but get these messages when restarting BOINC:

It appears standard SETI is still runnning. How can I get the optimized app to work?
Raistmer:
It seems you CPU should have not only SSE3 but SSSE3 as well.
Try to download that packege from download section and carefully read installation instruction..
And BTW, make sure that your app_info.xml lists 603 in supported apps. Change 528 to 603 if not.
Jason G:
Or you could wait a few hours, then the whole process becomes easier when new packages are put in the downloads section with pre-complete app_infos...and composite Multibeam & Astropulse packages too! 8)
Bill walker:
Raistmer - thanks very much, that seems to have done it.
Jason - wait a couple of hours?? While the aliens are out there trying to reach us?!?!?!
But seriously, I was going to ask about Astropluse next. I'll be back in a few hours.
arkayn:
I had fun working on the composite packages, only took about 30 minutes or so to do them.
