Should I do BOINC and Seti newer clients
« on: 11 Dec 2008, 08:39:02 pm »
Currently running the original Version 8 AK Seti SSE3, and running Crunch3rs 5.10.45 BOINC.

Should I get the newest BOINC, and is there a newer Seti app or should I just leave well enough alone???

I am running a 9850 Phenom .

Your multi-beam application, AK sse3 is fine for now.  Crunch3r's 5.10.45 is a good build & very stable.  If you're only running Seti on CPU & not the Beta GPU application...there's no "need" to change for the moment.  Later, if you decide to run a GPU-based application, it will require at min. Boinc 6.4.5  Also, other projects may require Boinc 6.x to run their application correctly, so if you decide to crunch other projects, watch for this as you may have to upgrade.

Hope this answers your question.  :)
