When the BOINC core client gets WUs, it sets them up to be processed by a specific version, and saves that information in client_state.xml. When it comes time to actually start the task, if that version isn't available it tries to download it.

My guess is you have the sse version of the app but the app_info.xml file for the mmx version. Dunno how that could have happened, but the mix won't work.

Hi Joe

I think it's a combination of fatigue and trying to give up the demon tobacco

As of this morning, both machines seem to be running ok, but both have, as yet, only returned an Astropulse WU (1 each)

What amazes me is that both machines ran sweetly for a couple of weeks, then all hell broke out, for no apparent reason!

Fingers crossed here...
